F.lli Pietta

With the Pietta Brothers technique, we will not look at laser engravings on weapon in the same way! 3 of 3

The new Pietta factory and the S.E.I. laser system.

It all began in 1963 when two brothers with a love of guns founded Fratelli Pietta in a small 82-square-meter workshop on Briggia Street. In 1987 an order for 10,000 Colt 1851 Navy-style revolvers for a French dealer changed the course of their business and the future of gun reproduction.

Pietta’s newest factory, located next to the hi-tech factory opened in 1995, began operations last spring to produce black-powder revolvers and other weapons that have remained in the backlog due to high demand for Single Action models. With both factories up and running Pietta should be able to double its annual production with the new S.E.I. lasers capable of making castles, barrels and other parts with deep laser engravings at an impressive rate.

With parts (castles, barrels, etc.) mounted in multiplejigs/multiple shots (in multiple jigs) and a computer-programmed pattern, it takes only a few minutes for the laser to etch a part of the weapon.

Obviously, there is a tremendous amount of preparation work prior to the final product stage, and Pietta’s two factories use state-of-the-art CNC machines to produce all major components for their Single Action. In the end, everything is arranged by hand and assembled by an experienced Pietta gunsmith, the only thing the laser cannot reproduce.

Outlaw Gang’s Single Action Cattlebrands.

With its headquarters in Tombstone, Arizona, the Outlaw Gang is one of the newest Cowboy Action Shooting groups in the country, founded in 2012 and led by Colt Faro, who is the world’s No. 10 fastest cowboy action shooter. Faro’s son Dylan, known as Matt Black, at age 15 is now the top-ranked cowboy pistol shooter.

With that background, a love of the Old West and Faro’s passion for shooting sports, he has made Tombstone’s Outlaw Gang a brand that sees several companies coming on board for co-branding opportunities. The brand, which has become Outlaw Legacy, is not only a brand with a classic slant, but is the name of a brand with a mission that includes honesty, integrity, education, Second Amendment rights, and the freedom we cherish as Americans. You might say it is simply the cowboy style.

For Pietta’s part in the branding of the Outlaw Gang, Alessandro Pietta (also known as Alchemist), who along with his brother Alberto carries on the family company today, decided to create a Single Action to serve as the organization’s signature, and this consists of a 5-1/2-inch SAA completely covered in American cattle brands made in Italy by the master engravers of Dassa.

Available in .38- and .357-caliber Magnum and .45-caliber Colt versions, the guns have an extraordinary stippled background with deeply etched cattle brands accentuated by borders around the castle and muzzle of the gun, along with sunbursts on the shoulders of the bands (shoulders of the backstrap).

The stainless steel of Outlaw Gang revolvers has a natural finish that becomes darker as the points used to cover the entire castle, stock, bands, and barrel of the revolver intensify. It is an extraordinary work, as Outlaw Gang likes to call the inimitability of the American West. Outlaw Gang models will be imported and sold through Taylor’s & Co.
